Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hostal Río de Oro in the beautiful town of Alcalá la Real during Easter with a fellow wildlife enthusiast. Nestled right in the heart of the town, just a quick stroll from the castle, this place is perfect for immersing oneself in the vibrant local culture. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to assist; they even provided us with great tips for exploring the area. Our room was spotless, featuring a large shower with fantastic pressure-ideal after a long day of hiking in the nearby mountains. Plus, the fact that we had air conditioning was a blessing, allowing us to unwind comfortably. Although there wasn't breakfast on-site, the nearby square had delightful bars where we enjoyed local drinks and tapas, soaking in the atmosphere. For any travelers looking for a home base while exploring southern Spain, I highly recommend this place-it's an authentic experience that truly reflects the charm of the region!
